Anjali Sareen, Associate

Anjali Sareen, Esq., is an associate attorney with Walters Law Group and focuses her practice on web-based intellectual property issues and First Amendment law. Ms. Sareen is licensed in both New York and Florida.

Ms. Sareen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and International Business from New York University in 2007, graduating in an abbreviated 3 year period. While enrolled in NYU’s Stern School of Business, Ms. Sareen was consistently chosen for the honor of Dean’s List. While completing a course in Advanced Hindi, Ms. Sareen was chosen to assistant teach Elementary Hindi and did so during her final year at NYU’s undergraduate college.

Ms. Sareen also attended New York University’s School of Law, graduating in 2011. While in law school, Ms. Sareen co-chaired the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF) and was an active member of the South Asian Law Student Association (SALSA). She focused on the intellectual property field and interned during her first law school summer at Kidrobot, a designer toy and apparel company, drafting licensing agreements and managing client relationships. Ms. Sareen also followed her passion for animal rights, ultimately performing legal work for organizations such as Compassion Over Killing and the Equal Justice Alliance as an intern. While interning at the Equal Justice Alliance, Ms. Sareen assisted in research and public relations efforts seeking to repeal the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act.

After earning her Juris Doctor from NYU, Ms. Sareen pursued a variety of interests involving law and journalism. After passing the New York State Bar Exam in 2011, Ms. Sareen joined the offices of Garbarini FitzGerald, P.C. to pursue work in the field of intellectual property litigation. Shortly thereafter, Ms. Sareen began writing for The Huffington Post, and has published articles on diverse topics ranging from animal rights to First Amendment issues. She also co-taught a class at New York University’s College of Arts and Science on the topic of Animals & Public Policy.

Ms. Sareen has demonstrated a passion for community service and was an active member of the NY Cares organization, which seeks to meet city needs by mobilizing New Yorkers for volunteer service. She recently returned to her home state of Florida after nearly 10 years in New York City. Since moving to the Orlando area, Ms. Sareen has volunteered with the Humane Society of the United States and with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters community outreach organization. She is also an active member of the Central Florida chapter of MENSA and an avid runner, competing in races several times per year.

Ms. Sareen is a member of the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division, the New York State Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, and the First Amendment Lawyers Association. Her current work with Walters Law Group includes assistance with state and federal court litigation, online agreements, intellectual property licensing, copyright/trademark registrations, DMCA safe harbor issues, and Copyright Fair Use evaluations.
